Roaring lions, daring trapeze acts, strong men!
Circus 250 is a national celebration of circus arts and heritage and has been providing lots of fantastic inspiration for Kinetika’s workshops in Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
As part of the ‘City of Circus’ project created by SeaChange Arts, Norwich Arts Centre, Lost in Translation Circus and Norwich City Council, Kinetika delivered mentoring for local artists and workshops with schools and community groups to make 110 silk batik flags.
Led by Ali Pretty and Lisa Meehan, working with local artists and community groups, the designs were inspired by the colourful art forms of circus both heritage and contemporary.
Some exciting artist CPD sessions for artists like Genevieve Rudd also took place at the Kinetika studio in Purfleet.
The flags were a spectacular sight in the carnival parade of Great Yarmouth Arts Festival on 9th June 2018 and also featured in the Lord Mayors Parade in Norwich on 7th July 2018.
