In June 2014, Ali Pretty and Kinetika Design Studio were commissioned by Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture Organisation to design and produce 6 stunning hand painted flags as site décor for their Art in the Park Festival.
The flag designs were inspired by Islamic geometric patterns and colours that were scaled and repeated onto the 4m long pieces of silk. The flags were created in our new studio and took Ali and two Design Studio assistants a week to produce.
The Islamic flags are now owned by MKIAC and will hopefully be on display not just at this festival but at many other events run throughout years to come.
Kinetika also provided other flags from our HIRES collection as site décor for the weekend.
*New for 2015*
In 2015, inspired by the same Islamic forms, Kinetika produced 250m of digitally printed bunting to decorate the festival site.
Art in the Park Festival is a weekend of family fun in Campbell Park, Milton Keynes and celebrates Islamic Arts, Culture and Heritage with many arts programmes, music performances, dance workshops and lots of local cuisine.
