Edwina Rigby was the Kinetika Business Manager from 2012 to 2016 and now works with the company on business development, product development and marketing. She has brought crucial management experience as well as key creative and technical skill to a range of projects, as well as pioneering new developments in its services.
Edwina first became involved in Kinetika’s activities when she was awarded a funded place on Kinetika’s Carnival Training Programme ‘Making of Mas’ in 2006. Working initially as assistant artist on projects such as Ti-Jean (2006), she went on to become lead artist for the FIFA World Cup ceremonies in Abu Dhabi (2009), and made the giant blue elephant puppet for the English National Opera’s production of ‘Aida’ (2007).
With her background in artistic, event, production and props management, Edwina became Kinetika’s Business Manager in 2012, continuing to contribute to the making of some of its best known productions, including the two lion heads for the Team GB Parade (2012).
Edwina has had a key role in establishing new commercial strands to Kinetika’s growing range of services, such as organising its vast collection of silk banners, costumes, puppets and structure into collections for commercial hire and developing the design studio’s first commercial product – the White Horses Collection by Ali Pretty.
