The Tiger and the Emperor features a magnificent mechanical tiger, colourful carnival dancers and fabulous firework effects. The show is inspired by a traditional Bengali folktale: a greedy emperor demands his taxes and the people must pay! An original soundtrack including a spoken narrative complements the tale of this insatiable Emperor and the wise man who persuades him to change his ways, with a little help from the magnificent Tiger. The performance can be enhanced with local input from schools, workshops, onsite public participation, choreographed dancers, flag bearers, community performers and live music.

The Bangla Queen, meanwhile, is a larger-than-life moving peacock structure, currently in the process of being built by the very same Kinetika artists who brought us both The Tiger and the Emperor and the 21st Century Pearly Queen, part of Imagination Our Nation, as witnessed by amazed crowds at the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad launch celebrations.
