With Ali's experience of designing for WOMAD festival, Kinetika can create bespoke textile designs such as flags, banners, costumes, backdrops, and site decoration for outdoor festivals and events, or to decorate high streets and shopping malls.
If you are interesting in discussing a project, please contact us for more details, and see some of our previous projects below.
Our most recent commission for site decoration was for The Shimmy at Wandsworth Arts Festival, 2012. We worked with the local community to design and produce one kilometre of bunting to line the festival site from Putney Bridge to Wandsworth Park and created custome flags and two archways to welcome visitors to this day full of surprises.
Kingston High Street, IYAF
In July 2011, Kinetika 'dressed' the streets of Kingston with giant colourful silk banners and flags to celebrate the International Youth Arts Festival (IYAF) - it involved no fewer than 55 banners, 100 pieces of giant bunting and at least 200 metres of silk in total.
The idea for the designs were generated by local children. Central to the theme was the town's involvement in 'Imagination Our Nation' - Kinetika's nationwide creative project aiming to get young people thinking about an ideal future, taking inspiration from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Designs themed around what the children love most about the town including rowing, swans, fishes, weeping willows, Richmond Park, music, the Rose Theatre are all featured in this design.
Hackney One Carnival 2011
Our most recent bespoke flag creation is for Hackney One Carnival on 18 September 2011. We designed and painted 20 flags that reflect the diverse culture of the local communities in Hackney in preparation for the borough welcoming the whole world in Hackney during the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
