Corporate Training

Carnivals require groups of people to work together to collectively to make an extraordinary event happen. Kinetika creates bespoke corporate team-building days using this model as a base.

Here’s why it works:

It improves your team alignment: Carnivals are seldom the work of individuals – the origins of carnival stem from effective team participation.

It allows real accountability: Individuals and groups take responsibility for individual elements of the event, contributing towards the larger “make”. Each individual needs to deliver or the entire performance will be in jeopardy. Individuals learn when to ask for help to overcome issues that emerge during the preparation and the event itself.

Participants learn to think on their feet: To make carnival, the creators need to work at speed and with a great sense of creativity, flexibility, and ingenuity.

Focus on inclusivity: Carnivals allow us to celebrate everyone’s cultural roots whether they come from a carnival culture or not. Carnivals are about each community’s views of its world; our methods fuse modern technology with tradition to enchant the audience.

Case Study:

In 2007, Kinetika led a group of Unilever executives through a carnival experience, which aimed to connect them together through participation and encourage individuals to take responsibility for their contribution to the team. The theme was global, the aesthetic textile-led, and three teams were led by a group of diverse artists from a range of cultural and technical backgrounds. The process took participants through the conception of an idea, design of costumes, development of a narrative, playing music, choreography and it culminated in a 10-minute performance.
